The Benefits of Digital Filmmaking in Travel Journalism

Let's face it, a lot of people dream of careers in travel journalism, picturing a life of traveling the world with their laptop in hand and working on their travel guide or book as they go. But when it comes to travel, there's nothing like actually seeing the destinations. And in a world where a digital video camera can fit in the palm of your hand, travel journalism has collided with filmmaking.

You Can Do It Yourself

What does that mean for you? Travel journalism is not a career where you join a company in an entry level position and slowly, but surely, work your way up. It's a do-it-yourself career that, with the right set of digital video skills and a good chunk of desire, you can become very successful at. And the level of success that you achieve is entirely up to you, not some company's corporate structure.

The Travel and the Experiences

Many people who love to travel have the same desire to share their experiences. If you're one of those people, then travel journalism may be right for you, as a job or a hobby. There's nothing better than taking something you're truly passionate about and turning it into a source of income. So go ahead, travel, gain some great experiences, and capture them for all the world to experience too.

Get the Skills and Live the Dream

Many people dream of being a travel journalist, but a lot of people don't make that dream a reality, nor would they want to. There's a whole lot more to it than going on a nice vacation. But for those that want to make it a reality, Travel Channel Academy is here to teach you the skills you need. With those skills, you can be one of those people who gets to live the dream.
